She is a Zapoteca. She found an escape through poetry as she would write and question her surroundings. ==Biography== Mare became involved in the hip-hop community and eventually became part of OGG crew as a rapper and singer. Her music brings a new perspective to the rap scene rarely seen in indigenous communities. OGG eventually branched out and Advertencia Lirika was formed, the only female group of its kind in Oaxaca. In 2012, Mare teamed up with Simon Sedillo to create a documentary focusing on her musical career and aspirations as well as her life experiences and beliefs.
